Masters badminton (Formerly known as Veterens) is hugely popular across Scotland and even much further afield with lots of tournaments, events and activities taking place each year. In Scotland a WhatsApp group has been set up for Masters Players to receive the latest updates and to organise attendance at competitions.
The qualifying age ranges are usually at least +35 and then further catagories are designated. EG. +40, +45, +50 and so on.
WIBA organises its own Masters Tournament each year. Called the Isle of Harris Masters. This is a doubles tournament that takes place in December and the age range is currently +40.
The competition was launched in Dec 2023 and has been well attended ever since with lots of support from local businesses and the community. Players meet at the Harris Hotel after the days play to relax.
